We’re proud to share that the Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) Fine Arts Building and Quad received a Merit Award at this year’s Tennessee ASLA Awards. Designed in partnership with our friends at HASTINGS, this recognition reflects the care and collaboration that went into reimagining a campus that’s been a cornerstone of the Nashville community since 1984.
Our landscape architecture team partnered with CPA and HASTINGS to bring new life to the campus through intentional planning, improved functionality, and sustainable design. The project focused on two main components: the new Soli Deo Center, a state-of-the-art Fine Arts Building, and a redefined quadrangle that now serves as the central gathering space for students and faculty alike.
Through extensive circulation studies, we helped shape a campus layout that prioritizes connectivity and enhances the experience of moving through the space. The result is a more intuitive flow between lower, middle, and high school areas—anchored by the new quad at the heart of it all.
Sustainability played a central role in the design. We replaced existing parking areas with green space, increasing usable green space by 76% and expanding the campus tree canopy. Integrated bioretention areas and rain gardens now support responsible stormwater management while contributing to the overall character and health of the landscape.
This project is a great example of how we’re Designing Experiences. Shaping Places. —creating spaces that bring people together, improve functionality, and leave a lasting impact.
We’re honored to be recognized for a design that balances beauty, function, and long-term value—and grateful for the opportunity to work on shaping a campus that will serve students for generations to come.
