Caption by Hyatt

Located in the heart of Nashville’s Gulch neighborhood, Caption by Hyatt Nashville was thoughtfully designed in partnership with Hastings Architecture to create a hospitality experience that reflects the energy, creativity, and connectivity of the surrounding community. Situated on approximately 0.45 acres at the corner of 12th Avenue South and McGavock Street, the 12-story hotel brings together modern accommodations, flexible gathering spaces, and street-level activity in one of the city’s most walkable urban districts.

Completed in March 2025, the development includes 210 guest rooms, a four-level below-grade parking garage, fitness center, meeting rooms with an outdoor terrace, and approximately 2,200 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space designed to support both visitors and local gatherings. At the center of the guest experience is Caption by Hyatt’s signature Talk Shop concept, a multi-functional culinary and social space that serves as a lounge, workspace, café, grab-and-go market, and bar inspired by Nashville’s culture and creative spirit. The project also includes a 7,000-square-foot restaurant space and a 150-stall parking garage serving both hotel guests and neighboring office users.

Designed to strengthen the connection between hospitality and the surrounding neighborhood, the hotel places guests within walking distance of Nashville’s retail, dining, entertainment, and music destinations while contributing to the continued growth and vibrancy of The Gulch. Nashville-inspired interiors, colorful murals, and welcoming common spaces create an experience rooted in place and designed for connection.

CSDG provided civil engineering services for the redevelopment, working closely with the project team and Metro agencies to coordinate permitting, infrastructure improvements, and site development for the urban infill property.
