Legacy Park at Long Hollow

Hendersonville, TN

At Long Hollow Baptist Church, the vision for Legacy Park started with a simple idea: create a space where people could gather, connect, and spend time together outside of Sunday services. What was once an underutilized area adjacent to the worship center was reimagined as a welcoming destination serving both the church and the surrounding community throughout the week. Working alongside Visioneering Studios, CSDG helped develop a master plan centered around recreation, connection, and everyday community life. The result is a park designed to bring all generations together, whether through play, conversation, fellowship, or quiet reflection.

Legacy Park features basketball and pickleball courts, turf play fields, and a playground that create opportunities for active recreation and family gathering. Generous seating areas, covered patios, and connected walkways encourage people to slow down, stay awhile, and naturally engage with one another while children play nearby. A central “Stones of Remembrance” tower and water feature serves as both a visual landmark and a meaningful gathering point within the campus.

Thoughtful pedestrian connections between the Education, Kids, and Student Buildings help unify the campus experience and make the space feel integrated, accessible, and easy to navigate. Designed for use well beyond daytime activities, the park also incorporates lighting throughout to create a safe and inviting atmosphere for evening events, recreation, and fellowship.

Through intentional outdoor design, Long Hollow Baptist Church created more than a recreational amenity. Legacy Park has become a space that strengthens relationships, supports community life, and extends the church’s mission beyond the walls of the building.
