Strive Academy

Nashville, TN

Strive Academy engaged CSDG to create a vision for the students’ outdoor activity area by converting an existing parking lot into a multi-purpose play area. The design consists of a multi-use court surface for sports and games such as basketball, volleyball, and four-square; a soft-surface field for soccer, football, and relay races; and an agility and confidence building area with a climbing wall that utilizes an existing retaining wall on the site. School programming elements include an improved pick-up and drop-off area as well as added stairs and terraces for outdoor classroom and school gathering opportunities.

As a small college prep school, we’re always looking for ways to maximize every inch of our space to better serve our students. Turning a parking lot—where our kids used to play at recess—into a vibrant outdoor recreation and practice area. CSDG made that transformation possible. Their civil engineering and landscape architecture teams worked together from start to finish, constantly collaborating and sharing ideas. The result is a thoughtful, connected space that not only supports active recreation but also reflects the high-quality design and care our students deserve.LaKendra Butler, Founder/Executive Director at STRIVE Collegiate Academy
